Where to Salsa in Curacao
|
| Wanna salsa on the island? Fortunately, salsa has captured the eyes of some club owners who are now dedicating at least a night or two each week to the salsa lovers. Here is a list of some of them:
|
|
Asia de Cuba Restaurant |
Salsa nights: |
Fridays and Saturdays. |
Dance floor: |
Mid-sized. Very packed with dancers on weekends. However, it can be quite impossible to dance without fear of injury when it gets super crowded on Fridays and Saturdays. |
Crowd: |
The crowd is a mixture of salseros and regular party people. |
Environment: |
Very nice but sometimes too crowded on the dance floor on weekends.
The place is non-air conditioned and tends to be sweaty and smoky
|
Music: |
Currently, Julio i su Cuban Express plays Cuban salsa on Fridays and Saturdays and some of the islands best dj's will spin everything you want in between sets, merengue faster-paced salsa, bachata, reaggeaton...but never cha cha. |
Plus points: |
Great happy hour on Fridays just after working hours and with a truly happy atmosphere and music. |
Minus points: |
Chances of getting stepped on and elbowed are quite high when crowded, so watch out for sharp elbows and heels. |
